February 2
Well it's the first week of February and Emily is doing pretty good. She had clinic last Friday. She grew and gained weight which made us all very happy. Her PFTs were still a little low, but they we high enough for her to stay out of the hospital. We are all very proud of Emily and she maintains her positive attitude through all of this. We love you Emily!

The month of October was very successful for fund-raising. Various student clubs, faculty, and parents at my High School have been extremely generous with donations. There are pictures of Emily on classroom doors where students have met their personal goals during fund-raising.
The principal at my High School ran a marathon and many faculty members pledged money per mile. He finished of course and the amount he raised far surpassed everyones expectations.
The person who is in charge of the student clubs comes up with one fund-raiser after another, she is truly amazing. There are so many people who I would like to thank. I'm very happy to be part of a faculty and staff that is truly a "family".
Unfortunately Emily has been in the hospital for the past week. The weather here goes up and down 20 to 30 degrees in one day. That never did sit well with Emily and she usually goes in sometime during the fall. Emily stays busy with her school work each day and e-mails her friends, aside from watching her favorites TV shows.
